Career and Technical Student Organizations
The Arkansas Department of Education, Division of Career and Technical Education (DCTE), supports the mission of Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to contribute toward the development of students enrolled in career and technical education (CTE) through activities that develop leadership abilities, citizenship skills, social competencies, and a wholesome attitude toward living and work. Through the development of program standards, DCTE supports CTSOs and requires all school districts that offer state-approved CTE programs to establish local chapters as integral components of their CTE programs to complement and enrich instruction.
The Arkansas Student Leadership Center under the oversight of the Division of Career and Technical Education manages and oversees the operations for the various Career and Technical Student Organizations while adhering to state and federal guidelines. In collaboration with the state CTE program areas and CTSO State Advisors, the Student Leadership Center implements improvements and acts on input from staff and local chapters for CTSO activities and events.
