Career Coaches
The College and Career Coach Program is designed to motivate and support Arkansas students and adults to achieve their college and career planning goals through intensive hands-on programs and services. College and Career Coaches work with students in the 7th – 12th grade. Career Coaches work in partnership with Career Development Instructors and School Counselors to assist with developing and revising their students' success plans. The Arkansas Career Coach program provides:
- assistance and information for resources in academic tutoring
- career counseling
- college preparation and admission
- financial aid guidance
- mentoring
- supports for post-secondary education/training access, retention, and success

The Perkins Innovation and Modernization (PIM) Grant was awarded to the Arkansas Department of Education, Division of Career and Technical Education to expand access to career-connected high schools. This grant will fund 5 Career Coaches serving approximately 5,000 students, 4 school districts, and 4 counties including first time access in 1 county with 3 community colleges and 1 university. The grant objectives include expanded access, increased participation, and improved outcomes in the areas of dual enrollment, work-based learning, industry recognized credentials, and career navigation and planning.
